EMMA’S SOUL KITCHEN

We make Good Food “Period”

A Long History of Soulfood

Emma Jay Bradley (my Great Grandmother) was born in 1928 in Ponto, Mississippi, Her mother, Emma Zen, was born in 1908 in the deep south as well, and Emma Zen Mother was born in estimated the late to mid-late 1800s. The woman of our family’s generation, “COOKING GENE,” has been well symbiotically connected in our DNA. My Great Great Great Grandmother was a house-enslaved cook growing up. My Great Great grandmother Emma Zen, a bi-product of that slavery identified by Her half-white skin and green eyes in old photographs, carried her cooking habits down, working as a house maiden in the south and then passing it on to my Great Grandmother Emma J. Bradley. Emma J Bradley, Emma Zen’s daughter, worked at Club 88 in Beloit, WI 53511, and retired after 36 Years of being A head, Chef. This serves as well as over 150+ Years of Cooking experience passed down to the chefs at Emma’s Soul Kitchen Today.
